AMY SHERWIN ROOM
The Amy Sherwin Room features high ceilings, heritage chandeliers, and views across Murray Street to St David’s Cathedral. Portable audio-visual equipment allows this stunning space to be used for a range of meeting styles and social events. Dedicated to Amy Sherwin, the Tasmanian Nightingale, the first Australian singer to make it overseas. In 1887 when Amy Sherwin arrived home in Hobart, crowds had gathered an hour before her arrival, filling the streets from Town Hall to Hadley’s with a sea of billowing scarves and feathered hats.
