Experience Tasmanian Wine in Autumn

Whether you want to explore Tasmanian wine country at your own pace or prefer the wine to come to you, autumn is the best time to visit.

Explore wine country

With the Coal River and Derwent Valley to our north and the Huon Valley and D’Entrecasteaux Channel to the south, Hobart is the best base to explore the Southern Tasmanian wine region.

Over 40 of the best vineyards in Southern Tasmania are swinging their gates open to the public at the annual Southern Open Vineyards Weekend from 4–6 March 2022.

Take a country drive to Tasmania’s southern wine regions and meet the passionate winemakers behind some of our favourite wines. Many vineyards will be providing live music and food pairings, especially for the event.

Let the wine come to you

If you prefer the wine to come to you, come to the Tas Wine Fest from the 18th-20th of March.

Hosted at the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens in Hobart, Tas Wine Fest lets you taste and trail through the scenic gardens. This event features wines from over 25 Tasmanian vineyards, with delicious, local food. There will also be live music to enjoy. Just find a comfortable spot on the grass and while away the day.

Or, if you prefer to stay in, we always have a great selection of local wines to enjoy at our Orient Bar, in our restaurant or on our room service menu. Cheers!
